The Federal Voluntary Service can be completed by anyone, regardless of age. This also gives older people the opportunity to reorientate themselves and even receive a small fee. The Federal Voluntary Service is voluntarily trying to replace civilian service, which was abolished in 2010 and caused a massive gap in social services.

Those who want to work later not only voluntarily but also professionally with the protection of our nature and environment or the support of people, have the opportunity to get acquainted with these activities and at the same time contribute to the preservation of a society worth living in. You get involved over a period of usually 12 months (exceptions are also possible) and at the same time gain insights into ecological and environmental policy contexts.
