Last week the students' university took place at the FU. This makes it possible for students and teachers to participate in exciting workshops on the topic of the respective PupilUni. This year's theme was sustainability + climate protection, which is why we at YLP were part of a workshop entitled "Insects as food for the future". We formed the Climate Change and Nutrition station, which, in addition to the other stations "Animal Ethics" by Martin Enders and "Insect Biology" by Sophie Lokatis, showed the problematic connections between our type of nutrition and accelerated climate change.

It was great classes and students who together with us explored the problems that our diet causes and the challenges it poses. Above all, we were surprised that some students already had a very high level of general knowledge and that many of them were already eating vegetarian food.

But also bee drones were fed so that you get a first impression of insects as food. Incidentally, these are removed from the beekeepers of the bee colonies in normal beekeeping every year and are usually thrown away. All in all an exciting time and experience with great students and teachers.
